i used to skate once.

wander down winn st in the valley (the little one way street next to the zoo) and you’ll find the outpost , a retail store with a style that invokes laneway escapades in melbourne and a unique edge that identifies as a distinctly brisbane view on local and international culture. from men’s and women’s clothing, to books, zines and music, the curatorship of global independent brands and products for the store is annually extended to an art exhibition with a difference.

'i used to skate once' is a skate art / music event featuring local, interstate and international creative people that the outpost admire. with fifty six local and international artists showcased and some fine local sounds on offer, this is truly an event not to be missed.

this years 'i used to skate once' is hosting the artwork of brett chan, stefan marx, mark drew, jesse olsen, and a whole swagger of even more local talent; this years installment is sure to be a killer. not only do you have all those amazing decks to hang your eyes from, but kirin. j. callinan (formerly mercy arms guitarist), stemford hiss, secret birds, and doom doom will be sating any aural desires you may have on the night.
this event takes place this thursday at the zoo from 6pm. it's free, and sure to be one heck of a night.

i can't wait til i make it in the music business.

bats and red riders.

on saturday we attended the bats issue four launch party.
it was one heck of a day which consisted of free drinks and good music such as,
we were arks, teleprompter, comic sans and last dinosaurs.

afterwards, we rocked on to red riders.
it had been almost two years since i had seen them live, but they were still amazing.
